As I continue to re-embrace my archives, I thought it'd be fun to slap this one up for the heads :) I recorded this piece in a week when I was 24, I think sometime in September 2017 ?? It's a little hard to remember. BUT - I had just finally bounced back after a wild spring where I was hit by a car and had a major computer crash / data loss in like the same week. I worked a ton over the summer and saved up to buy all new programs / plugins and recorded this is as a way of familiarizing myself with what I was using. Also because music theory stresses me out I said "I'm only gonna play the black keys" and I guess played the whole thing in C# major ?? Is that how things work ???

I came up with the name as I was recording it because I was imagining this to be like, music coming from the inside of wetlands or rain forests or something like that. I just kept fantasizing about taking a HUGE Q-Tip to the world and (respectfully of course) pulling up a cross section of these precious areas and being like "you guys, even their music is cool !"

- I spent the whole summer dogsitting in Mt. Airy and walking around a lot at night, so there are tons and tons of sounds of sounds from those night walks throughout.
-- There's one part where some boy starts talking and I chopped it up a bunch, that's a recording of Tristan Tzara that I got off of UBUWEB but I can't tell you which one !
--- FUN FACT : One of these songs ended up morphing into "Necessary Light" on the "From The Canopy" album I made in 2019.
